VICTORIAN BATHROOM DESIGNER WINS HIA AWARD
Paul Hutchison, with Victorian company Bubbles Bathrooms, was named the 2009 Housing Industry Association-Caroma Dorf Australian Bathroom Designer of the Year at the HIA-CSR Australian Housing Awards held in Brisbane.
This is the second year in a row that Paul has won this award. This year he met the clients’ brief exactly with a spectacular bathroom, described by the judges as “a brilliant bathroom by any measure”.
Featuring a striking composite stone bath as the room’s main focal point, with two matching composite stone basins, the winning bathroom has the feeling of luxury. The modern lines and fixtures have been combined with organic shapes and materials.
Warm, neutral tones and excellent use of space help create a well balanced bathroom. The judges were impressed with the very thorough and precise execution of this bathroom, saying a “great attention to detail and accuracy” was evident.
The association’s awards acknowledge excellence in housing construction, design, innovation and technology, recognising the talent of builders and building companies involved in the planning and construction of quality housing.

Chop, chop! The blades on conventional electric fans literally chop the air, which means the airflow is uneven, causing unpleasant buffeting. The Dyson Air Multiplier™ fan has no blades. Conventional fans are only wired to run at just two or three settings.
No blades means no need for a grille; so it’s simple to clean and straying fingers are safe too. And because its motor is at its base, the Dyson Air Multiplier™ can be tilted with a touch, unlike a conventional top-heavy fan, which needs to be positioned with two hands and can topple easily.
