After almost 40 years of running successful interior design business Let’s Talk Kitchens, Rex Hirst has consolidated the company’s reputation for specialising in high end cabinetry and design for kitchens, laundries, bathrooms, fitted wardrobes and entertainment units.

With two branches of Let’s Talk Kitchens – one in Glen Waverley and the other in Cheltenham – the company is able to build all types of kitchens across Melbourne.

The featured kitchen was designed by Markus Sawatzki from Let’s Talk Kitchens in Glen Waverley. The kitchen features crisp white cabinetry that is offset by a rich walnut benchtop. Markus literally added sparkle to the kitchen with gloss and glitter grout on the glass tile splashback.

The homeowners wanted a spacious kitchen that also had a distinct ‘wow’ factor, as they entertain frequently and required a kitchen space that was functional as well as flashy.

The new layout better utilises the living space, and has incorporated plentiful benchtop space and beautiful materials that strengthen its aesthetic appeal. LED lights were installed under the benchtop.

Beacon Lighting chandeliers add a special touch to the kitchen. The use of drawers in cabinets and roll-out fittings throughout ensure the kitchen is practical- everything is where it needs to be for ease of use and convenient access.

As the kitchen is larger than the previous one, floors had to be redone to accommodate the increased size, and a structural pantry was removed to incorporate the new design.

The kitchen features Thermopal champagne metallic gloss high pressure laminate on doors and panels, Kethy Latina Series stainless steel handles, a CaesarStone benchtop in walnut, a glass splashback by Southern Cross Splashbacks, and Crea brushed steel kickboards. Appliances are from Miele and DeDietrich.
